FAQ

How do the musicians dress?
The musicians dress in concert black (semi-formal) unless otherwise requested.

What do you require at the venue?
The quartet requires only four chairs without arms and a small space to play in. We will provide music stands and other necessary equipment.

Will the quartet play outdoors?
Many of the weddings we play in take place outdoors. However, reasonable precautions must be taken to ensure the safety of our instruments. We require shade, moderate temperatures (between 60 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit), and no precipitation.

Will you attend the wedding rehearsal?
It is typically not necessary for the quartet to attend rehearsals. Our members have performed in numerous weddings and are very skilled in timing the music to the right length. We only recommend having the quartet for the rehearsal if cost is not a factor.

Do you play for receptions?
Yes, we can play during cocktail hour, dinner, and even the whole reception. Our library contains a wide range of musical styles to best suit your needs.

How will you know when to start the music during the ceremony?
All we need is a signal from your wedding coordinator. We will arrive early and discuss the details before the prelude starts.

How should we time our entrances with the music?
Our members have years of experience playing in weddings and are very adept at ending the music at just the right time.

I have a special piece that is not in the quartet library? Can you play it?
The quartet will purchase up to $50 in sheet music at no additional cost. If the piece you are looking for is not available for string quartet, we can have it arranged for you provided sufficient lead-time.

Will you perform with other instrumentalists or singers?
Absolutely. Usually we require a short rehearsal just prior to the event.

Do we need to meet in person?
While all details can be addressed online or over the phone, we would be happy to meet with you in person to address any questions you may have.
